Although pop superstar Usher received some heckling about the large, retro-looking glasses he sported on NBC’s The Voice earlier this week, he also created quite the buzz on social media.

The eight time Grammy winner wore the glasses in support of Michelle Chamuel, the last remaining contestant under his tutelage on the American Idol-style performance competition show who is well known for wearing similar set of eyewear.

To drum up support for the bespectacled song stress, Usher also launched the hashtag #4eyesontheprize for Twitter and Instagram, which fans used to send out pictures of themselves wearing similar black, retro-style frames.

These classic Wayfarer style frames work as both sunglasses and prescription eyewear.

Usher and Chamuel both prove that when it comes to glasses big is beautiful and geeky is chic.
